Wacom/Cross Tablet PC Executive Pen(s) Review Executive Tablet PC Pen(s) Review February 4, 2024
Article by Justin Stigall - Forum Moderator
Introduction
I've
been waiting for these Pens forever, and now they are finally almost
out! Wacom was kind enough to send me one for review. There are two
styles of these pens, one without a cap and one with. The one I'll be
reviewing doesn't have a cap, but I'd venture that a review of the one
without cap would probably cover both pens.

Impressions
The first
time I held the pen I noticed that it had more weight to it than a normal
wacom pen, this is probaby due to the metal barrel in the center. However
it isn't quite as heavy as I would like. It is however very comfortable
to hold, especially for extended note taking. I intentionally held off
on my review until I could get to class and take notes and I noticed
a lot less pain in my hand after writing with this pen over the normal
pen that came with my Toshiba M200. I also noticed increased sensitivity
when writing notes and a lot better tracking. It seemed wherever I wrote
with the pen on the screen was exactly where the ink was put, compared
to the stock toshiba pen that seemed a little off.
The eraser
head works exactly like any other wacom pen you've ever tried, using
slight pressure pushes the eraser down and erases the ink you've put
down. The best feature I think of the pen is the recessed right-click
button. On most wacom pens you accidentally hit the right-click buton
a lot, but with the recessed button you only hit it when you need to.
Is the
pen worth $50? Maybe, if you are dissatisfied with the stock pen that
comes with your tablet and want to spend the big bucks on a new one.
Personally I'd like to see them hit the sub $40 mark, but its a cross
product and those are always a little marked up. However you can rely
on the fact that you will get a very nice pen for your money.
On my arbitrary
scale of rating things I give it a 8.5/10, only because it didn't really
add anything new and the weight wasn't exactly what I had hoped. Plus
it didn't really blow me away as a must have product.
