I am just testing a Acer c111tci. Most important for me is the view angle because i want the tablet for taking notes. Here are some pictures of the view angle of the c111tci:

I also found that the screen brightness is really good. Here is a picture made with FLASH ON:

This is very strang for me, because in all the reviews i read that the view angle of the c110 is really bad, pictures are washed out and the brightness is too low. Maybe Acer gave the c111 a huge screen improvement.

Any comments are welcome.

Well, I have a brand new C111TCi too and the view angle compares to yours. In one word EXXXELLENT!

Indeed maybe the older ones were worse.

Battery life is 3.5 hours for taking notes.

The build-in microphone however is very good. Most Tablet Pc have a very bad microphone. But the C111tci has a very good one. Sound recording with OneNote is a impressive.

I did nothing special. WLAN off, brightness full, Auto-Backlight-Dim on.

BTW i set the Standby timer to 5 minutes. The time for returning from standby is about 3 - 5 seconds. Pretty fast! With this settings the c111tci should work the whole day for note taking with a full charged battery.

There are not more than 40 processes running. I turned the Visual Effects to best performance, Cleartype off, Sound scheme to no sound, WLan off. I just turned all the annoying stuff off, which i do not need.

Backlight dim is a funktion which reduces the backlight a little bit if you are on battery and increases the backlicht when you use AC-Power. However you can turn this funktion off.

Powersettings with microsoft windows xp to max battery.

I disabled the alarm for low battery. Now the battery goes down to 0 %. I only see a visual warning. All apps are set to auto-save. This gives me an extra of 15 minutes battery-life.

I set the monitor timer to 3 minutes and the standy by timer to 5 minutes. Resuming from stand by takes 3 to 5 seconds.

All in all i get with this options a nonstop of 3.5 hours with one note and journal running.

With several standby intervals i can use the acer a whole working day for note taking.

However i will get a second battery. Just to be on the safe side.

Hearing about the C111's viewing angle, I'm led to believe that its a different screen. I have a C110 and I can tell the angle isn't very good at all. Likewise the brightness. Can anyone who has both confirm?

The C111TCi has a very exciting new bright and super viewable screen. It's the best screen currently available! Good work Acer!

BTW from my experiences, the battery life of the C111TCi is around 3.5 hours for note taking. Maybe battery life was improved too due to the low power consumption of the new screen.

Indeed I think the C111tci's scren is great. It compares well with my TR1 Vaio's XBRITE screen. It is not as sharp, but easier on the eyes, and the viewing angle is unparalleled.

The C111Tci i have tested is the german version with the part number LX.T270E.109. In Belgium i think you have LX.T270E.114. Higher part number indicates improvement. This means that the TM C111TCib in Belgium should have the new screen. However this is drawn on a theory...

I also thaught that the C111 had bad view angle reading the various tests, however it turned up to be as good as any LCD monitor I know.

In fact I cant find any negative sides on the C111 - but perhaps battery life is about 3 hours - but if you read the other forums the other tablets have similar performence when it gets to real life.

The C111 I find to be as perfect as a tablet can be today.
