CobraA1,

FWIW, you might want to check out the recently announced new Toshiba TabletPC's...

One model is aimed at consumers and will be close in price to the Averatec....

HTH,

My Tablet PCs: Averatec C3500

To be honest, you're all right. The Averatec has been starting to give me a lot of troubles. The harddrive is starting to fail. Even a clean wipe isn't fixing it.

And to be honest, I can get a laptop more powerful than any tablet in the market. My next computer's going to be a laptop, not a tablet. I need the power more than I need the pen.

Yeah the pen is the only real reason for buying a table. I'm sure avertec will get their act together and get all the bugs out of the machine. It'll just be a little frustrating till they do. What you're experiencing is why I never like to buy the first attempt at something regardless of the manufacturer.
