{I know, I know, just what we need: another freaking topic about cases. I've been wading through them all morning and haven't found an answer to my question, either because it's not out there or because my query skills are lacking.)

My TC1100 did not come with the stock zippered case, but rather a sleeve. It's snug, has a little spot to put a business card (in case you leave it on a park bench somewhere), and allows access to plug the tablet in while in the case.

I'm disappointed. I don't like having to pull it out of the sleeve every time I want to use it. I'd much rather have a zippered portfolio case to clip my tablet into.

So! My questions are as follows:
1.) Is the stock portfolio case worth ordering from HP Parts at a cost of $36?
2.) Is there anyone no longer using their stock portfolio who would like to sell it to me for less than $36 with S/H?
3.) is there anyone with the stock portfolio who would prefer the sleeve who would like to trade?

Danguyf,

Answers
I use the stock portfolio case every day and have done for over a year. I think that while it does not offer shock protection, it is very good protection against scratches and dust. Unlike the sleeve type cases, you do not have a longitudinal movement of anything against the screen everytime you open and close the case. I have to believe the risk of scratches is lower.

I almost always "double bag" my machine. The original case for the first, and some sturdier case (or knapsack frequently) for carrying it around.

Sorry - wouldn't part with the stock case. Remember that you can use it without the keyboard (I often do). I also have a slightly heavier case that I use when I need something a little sturdy and don't want to carry the knapsack).

I might be willing to trade. Could you post a pic of your case?

The case has started to grow on me. It's nice and streamlined. Today I found a spot for a second pen. Never-the-less I would prefer a zippered portfolio. Here are some pics:

And here's one showing the business card holder and the holder for the second pen:

Is it possible to still by the portfolio or slip cases?

I bought my TC1100 2nd hand off ebay, the portfolio case is a little worn, and would like a newer one.

Thanks

PR.,

You can buy my slip case. I just got my tablet on Friday and I was disappointed to only get the slipcase so I am looking to get rid of it and buy the executive Zippered Case. Let me know if you are interested. I hope you don't mind, I will send you an e-mail too.

TabletPCman,

Great! I can accept Pay Pal payments. Where do you live? I'll sell this for $30 shipped in the USA 48 continental states. If you wish, send me an e-mail by clicking on the envelope icon in one of my posts. That would be the best way to contact me. By the way, let me know if you want a picture.

cheers,

The stock portfolio is part# 323401-001 from the HP Parts Store (http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/) and sells for $36.

htobin,

My portfolio slip case is still available. I want to trade it for the Tablet PC Executive Workstation Portfolio (part #DC909A). My case is brand new, just arrived on Friday with my Tablet. Let me know if you are interested.

wiggy1,

Where are you?

Is this the case you are trying to get?

Tablet PC Executive Workstation Portfolio

This is not the same as the stock case that looks like this:

Have you seen your case for sale anywhere. I can't find it on the HP site.
