I've got an Acer 303xMi-sp2 and have been having problems with my CD-rw program. As I attach the songs to be burned and try to listen to them, the program opens up a page saying "trying to retrieve internet CD information" and it will freeze the program for 10 minutes in search of the web info. I've tried to find out how to disable it but haven't been successful. I just wish I could play the songs without having it checked all the time. The program checks the songs one by one and although I am web connected, it can't find the connection.
I'd very much appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Try using different burning software? I'm assuming you're using WMP or iTunes, as I don't know of any other that checks song names from the net. NTI came bundled, right?
