The looks are great, and the performance (1.3GHz processor) is good. However, I did not find the "killer" thing that would make this tablet stand out from the crowd. That said, I was still pretty impressed with this unit. I was able to go back and restore it from the backup made at 12:00AM this morning, but this means any posts or user registrations made today are gone. I'm looking into what caused the crash/corruption, but unfortunately I can't go back and fix it before the crash (unless Rob hurries up and completes that time machine :-)). My apologies for the inconvenience to everyone out there!http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21247New Buzz site! SPOTBuzz.comYep, that is right. I'm launching today a second "Buzz" branded site, this time about Microsoft's SPOT, or Smart Personal Object Technology. For those that don't know, the SPOT initiative at Microsoft has resulted in the development of MSN Direct powered wristwatches. The watches, from Fossil and Suunto right now, allow you to receive news, weather, stock quotes, and even text messages on your watch. The first watches were launched at CES last week, and have received good reviews from early adopters. I have had one since Sunday and have written my review of it over at SPOTBuzz.

SPOTBuzz will be bringing you the same quality of information and reporting that you know here from TabletPCBuzz, and will be covering anything and everything SPOT. So go on over and check out this new site, and this new technology. Thanks!

URL: http://www.spotbuzz.comhttp://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9157Sunday Countdown Giveway: The Big One!Ok… my brain is starting to hurt typing so many contest posts here, but we’ve got one more to go. To recognize some of the top contributors, we decided to do this Members of the Year award. Thanks to everyone who participated, and congratulations to those who were nominated! Everyone who was nominated should feel good that your contributions to the community did not go unnoticed. I imagine we've got quite a few readers who have already welcomed in the new year in your time zone, so technically I could be late instead of early. Anyhow, I'd like to thank everyone here for a great 2004 on TabletPCBuzz, and I look forward to a great 2005!
