Give me something to think about while I wait. What problems have you had (related to bugs/defects/bad design/Fujitsu support) and what has amazed you?

Centrino vs Atheros

I'm pretty much settled on buying a ST5022, the only thing I don't have answered yet is to get the 5022 or the 5022D. It seems the only diff Centrino b&g vs the Atheros Super AG. I'm using a standard Linksys wireless G router at home. I don't know much about the Atheros. Any insight as to why I should choose one over the other? I'm not a very "technical" person.

Big problems :)

Hi everyone. I bought a Stylistic 3500 from my friend a couple weeks ago.
Heres what came with it:

Charger & carying case
Wireless Keyboard
USB 4port HUB
USB Mouse
Dynex PCMCIA Network adapter
Dynex external USB CD-RW

Now heres what has become my problem. About a month ago, he downloaded a virus and decided to remove the hard drive and hook it up as a slave to his desktop computer and reformat. So to make a long story short, I can't get windows to install....even after copying my xp pro cd to the hard drive and installing it from there. I am aware of the pen driver issues with XP. I also have a Win98 CD that I haven't tried yet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Acer C112 or Fujitsu ST 4120?

Hello, I am very close to getting another Tablet PC as my C110 is on the brink of becoming spare parts for the rest of you. For details on that, you can see my other thread at http://tabletpcbuzz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21709. In any case, I'm consider either purchasing the C112 as I like the Acer design quite a bit, or going for the slate tablet. I have the opportunity to buy a used ST4120 for just under 1K, so the prices would be about the same for a new C112.

I was wondering if anyone has done the change from an C100 to the ST4120. If so, what was your experience? Did you like the change? What were the big things that jumped out at you as being different?

Specifically, screen brightness or contrast any different?
Battery life?
Size/weight?
And going from USB 2.0 (on the C110) to 1.1?

i purchased a defective cross pen from them and they refuse to respond to emails or send my new, non defective pen even though they had my return weeks ago. apparently they are going the india route for customer service. i will never do business with these creeps again and recommend other do not.

fujitsu T4010 freezing screen

Hi everyone , I just bought a fujitsu T4010 , and have a problem, sometime the screen freeze with some vertical flickering stripes ,,with every applications blocked , the only way is to shut down the machine and restart it . I'm very concerned as it happens quite often .
Has anybody have an idea of what it could be and how to solve it?!!!!

Installed software on the T4010?

I've ordered a T4010 and it should arrive any day now, but I'm curious about the installed software. The few reviews I've read mentioned that it has very little preinstalled (which IMHO is a good thing with regards to the junk typically piled into preconfigured PCs) and I'm curious as to exactly what IS installed. The Fujitsu website only lists a handfull, but one of the apps I'm really interested in is Alias Sketchbook... They were clearly using it in the flash demo, but it isn't listed as being included. Can one of you that have a T4010 give a list of applications that came preinstalled? TIA!

Fujitsu support - downloads out of date?

Something that concerns me - when I visit fujitsu.com, and look for downloads for the T4010 in the support section, I get a list of software.

Now the odd part. The software is all considered "Included". Included means you should use the software that came with your tablet, rather that update it. I'm sure the T4010 isn't that old (what, 4-5 months maybe?) but shouldn't there be *SOME* software updates?

Anyone want to comment on driver updates/bug fixes? Anyone had any problems? Is fujitsu so good at packaging drivers that they don't need updates?? :D

Antique cr@p: OS survey

Hi guys,

It�s me again. As a few of you know, I have recently acquired three Fujitsu Stylistic 3400 PC in various states of repair, thanks to eBay. Having toyed with stream-lining OS installs of win 2K (http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21376) I have it down to about an hour and a half {without the stupid 12 million download and reboots of getting all the windows updates}, every driver/ device working perfect.

What I have observed is that the hardware is very stable under 2K, Very stable, more stable than my desktop.

I have decided which is my �keeper� and which are to be liquidated, and I expect my new, big, kickass hard drive to arrive in the next day or so and plan on only one more install for the near future

All this has been the prep for my real question�

While I have no worries that I can get XP installed and tuned without any trouble, should I?

I am looking for some input from anybody who is running XP on a 3400/3500, forget the install, once you got it right, did it perform as good as Win2K, I understand that this old hag is only a 400Mhz, can it hang with the new dogs???
