Tablets in Education

wish to start a group involving educators from schools, colleges, Universitys to share experiences of using a tablet in the classroom. I work in a school in the UK but the market in this country is very small so anyone in the world is welcome!

Any tablet users in the DFW area want to start a user group? We don't have to do anything official just hanging out, talking, showing off what we got, dreaming about what we want, complainging. You know...fun stuff[:D]

G'day!

There seems to be enough of us here at the buzz to give this a go.

The other U.S. groups are all city-based but perhaps we could use this thread to begin to create and post about our own Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane etc. city-groups.

So here goes...

I'm Melbourne based if anyone wants to do a local Cafe meet at some stage.

Discussion-wise, I've found the lack of awareness of Tablets still (now just on 2 years since launch) both bemusing and staggering.

The fact that stores don't seem to even have them on the shelves either anymore despite me ALWAYS getting positive reactions from people when they see it for the first time beggars belief.

Prefer hands on rather then web or web cast.

New York City TUG?

I'm crazy busy, but would love to at least chat with other New York City (and greater metro area) users about tablet related stuff.

There's a lot we have in common:
* wireless/wifi services
* stores & repair shops
* schools & businesses
* NYC specific applications?? (subway maps, guides)

Plus, we could always meet up on a Sunday some time for a beer, soda, or milk on the rocks over some tablet gossip.

Does anyone know of an existing (or in planning phase) TabletPC user group in the Portland Oregon area?

I moved to Portland just over a month ago and don't know if there is such a group going yet or not.
